If you would like to have a better understanding of #stigma and #discrimination we can help!
We provide a range of workshops where in a safe, comfortable space you can learn more about these topics. If you feel passionate about addressing mental health related barriers and challenge negative behaviours, our workshops are a great start to give you the right tools.
You will also learn more about Stamp It Out County Durham (SIO) as a charity, what our Anti-Stigma ambassador's do and how you could get involved in our activities.
Our offer includes:
Introduction to Challenging Mental Health Stigma and Discrimination – the aim of this workshop is to develop Anti-Stigma Ambassador skills, knowledge, understanding and confidence to challenge mental health stigma and discrimination.
Social Contact – The aim of this online workshop is to develop Anti-Stigma Ambassadors’ skills, knowledge, understanding and confidence in opening up a conversation in everyday life to improve attitudes surrounding mental health.
School Offers
There is on going progress with a local primary school to create a training offer for primary school children.
The offer is being adapted from the ‘Introduction to Challenging Mental Health Stigma and Discrimination Training’. This is being co-produced and shaped by children from different age groups by using focus groups.
The work includes creating case studies to show within the training so that when we pilot the training it is coming from the perspective of another child.
We hope to get the training signed off before Summer so that it can be piloted in the new Academic year.
